Devon Kalyniw

Devon Kalyniw is a visual artist based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. While his primary practice is painting, Devon takes on a varied inter-disciplinary role in his works. His pieces are reflective of the current human condition and examines awareness of the physical/mental state of duality. Exploration in the significance and impact of our inherent instinct that is reflected in our present social conditioning is ever-so present within the content and concept of many of Devon\'s artworks. Having a background in Street-Art and a formal education in Fine Art, Devon\'s work is an amalgamation of his experience and has found a balance in terms of approach, technique and all around mentality towards creating art. Yet he does not limit himself to any of these constraints. Exploration and discovery is a crucial part of his process. Letting the artwork \"speak for itself\" and allowing it to have a say in the final outcome is often more important to him, allowing the art to become self-aware.
