Beauty – Austin

I originally started out in the fashion industry four years ago helping do makeup in a couple photo shoots here in Austin. But, I fell ill quickly within four months and decided to bow out. After two years and many stays in the hospital, I finally had a diagnosis of ovarian cancer...six days later I underwent surgery and had a full hysterectomy, which lead to a year long battle with a very serious depression. In the last year and a half, my focus was how to deal with regaining my health, happiness and life ambition back. It took a great friend of mine, to remind me that I have a gift and that I needed to remember that. So, in July of 2014, she helped me get back into doing what I had forgotten brought me happiness and a sense of purpose. Since then, I have pushed myself to get out there and network with many photographers and models and to tap into my creative side. I\'ve never felt so proud of myself for getting past my fears and to keep setting goals for myself. The best part, is having so many people support me through this journey. I can\'t imagine giving up now. Many people go through life scared to go after a dream... I refuse to settle in my pursuit of happiness and creating art and beauty.
