Dorothy Renner

Visual Art – Denver

Abstract artist Dorothy Renner is inspired by the patterns of nature and expresses her artistic vision in relaxed and tangled lines with splashes and pools of light and color. Painting intuitively she attempts to solve the puzzle each piece presents. The abstract representational works are loosely planned and the fully abstract pieces are products of flow and process. Dorothy started painting experimentally at the age of 15. It was in community college that she was introduced to the basics of a number of different art mediums, including pencil, watercolor, acrylics, pastels, and clay. She continued her painting studies independently while pursuing a degree in psychology. Currently she uses art in therapeutic settings for both individuals and groups and is a professional counselor in Denver, Colorado. Her goal is to support the use of art as a tool for health and healing - inspiring and empowering youth and adults seeking to find their artistic voice.
