Visual Art – St. Louis
I have been drawing and making art since I was a toddler. I was always interested in selling my work. As a little kid I used to sell my pencil sketches to my parent\'s friends. My daughter was born when I was still in high school so I ended up working like 30 different jobs that had nothing to do with art in order to make ends meet. I went to college with the intention of becoming a professor as a \"fallback\" plan from being a famous artist. I was a single parent for much of that time, but always kept up daily practice in art. I\'ve come to the conclusion after many false starts that you either do what you love and put everything into making it or you put everything into working for someone else and make yourself miserable. As I got older I sold a few things here and there but didn\'t really push myself to market my work until I met my wonderful Wife Sally who has been a huge supporter and also acts as my agent much of the time. I started painting regularly in 2007 and over the past year have been painting daily and working at a furious pace with commissions and online art sales. As my wife told me \"No one is going to see your stuff sitting here in the living room. You have to get it out into the world.\"
