Visual Art – Phoenix

My first creative expression was in performance art as a clown with Ringling Bros. Circus. I have always had a passion for working with my hands. Working mostly with wood by creating and building custom rustic furniture. For a short time I got involved in building African Asheiko drums from old pallets or old theatrical sets. This then led to a time when I began building digerdoos from the Agave plants in Arizona. For years I have had a dream of building a life sized metal dragon. I taught myself to weld and began my first dragon attempt around 2003. Somehwere I lost motivation. My second attempt was in 2007 where I completed the entire structure however still did not finish it. I have moved more towards metal sculpture now and have so many creative thoughts it has been difficult to stop and focus on one at a time. My most recent piece was a left handed Fender Stratocaster made completly of nuts, bolts and bike chain. The next one on the list is inspired by Paul McCartney\'s Hofner Bass guitar which will also be done completely out of nuts, bolts and bike chain. The difference will be that the Hofner Bass will be playable. My goal for the very near future will be to start one of my large scale ideas. I enjoy art that people can touch and be a part of making come to life.
