Edward Borek

Visual Art – San Diego

Edward Borek is a self taught artist based out of San Diego, California. Inspired by traditional artists like Claud Monet and contemporaries such as Tim Gagnon. Edward uses an artful blend of vibrant colors to create beautiful landscape and abstract paintings. Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he grew up on the New Jersey seashore where the local scenery inspired him to begin creating artwork. After relocating to San Diego in 2010 he found a renewed sense of inspiration to continue his art and bring beauty and color to the canvas. With no academic training Edward is a completely self taught artist. Looking to fellow artists, YouTube videos, and good old fashioned Google he has developed skills and techniques which parallel his more traditionally educated peers. Not without education, Edward has academic and professional training in culinary arts and restaurant management becoming an excellent chef. Preparing delicious meals for family and friends Edward believes the edible art can sometimes be the most enjoyable! One of Edward\'s greatest passions, besides creating art, is helping those less fortunate. He is an avid volunteer for organizations that help underprivileged children and the homeless. He can also be found volunteering with associations dealing with bringing art to the public such as FIGMENT San Diego.
