Elements of Gray

Accessories – Milwaukee

I made my first pinch pot in my junior year of High School and after my first slab project I knew ceramics and clay was truly my medium. I love the feel of clay and it’s almost magical properties; it can be liquid slip, solid and yet so very flexible, solid and carvable before being fired and becoming fragile yet hearty and strong. Clay can be used to make things of great beauty, practical function or provide both. I started my advanced education at Arcadia University in Glenside PA and studied abroad in my junior year at the Glasgow School of Art in Glasgow, Scotland. I transferred to the Glasgow School of Art , where my sole focus was on ceramic design. I graduated from the GSA in 2002 with a B.A. in ceramic design. I began this new series of work in my home studio in 2014 and started Elements of Gray in July of 2015. I’m embarking on a new journey and finding constant inspiration and joy in ceramics and am looking forward to what story my clay will tell.
