Visual Art – Sydney

I have started scribbling with pencil and paper since I was not yet ten. I was fascinated by the so-called drawings as well as the world around myself, and soon developed a deep love for this, which has not left me and has grown by the day. Form - I began my work by copying the classics, some graphic work, and national and traditional motifs. After all I was born in Isfahan, the cradle of art and culture in post-Islamic times. Gradually Iranian motifs fade away from my works and they are replaced with Expressionism, and today I consider my work post-Expressionist. From among the masters I am more inspired by Marc Chagall. Content – The principal essence and message of my works are social and impressed by the life of man today, especially today\'s woman and her situation in IRI. Two main features in my work are first: descriptive, where I narrate the event or realities I observe. In proportion to the strength and placidity of my emotion vs. the subject of work. My sentimental passion is also influenced, and show itself colourful or discoloured on the canvas. Colours play the central role in reflecting my message; then come the lines and curves, etc. I use various media: water colour, oil painting, gouache, even pieces of old books and newspapers and calligraphy, and even ceramic and wood at times. The second feature of my work is offering positive message for activity and the manner of activity. http://www.elham.com.au
