Music – Washington, D.C.

Elle Hope is an indie singer-songwriter from the Washington, D.C. Area. A fresh, young voice on the DC music scene, Elle writes strikingly honest music about what it means to be a teenager in the digital age. She explores the changing ways in which people express love, friendship, sexuality, and more, drawing largely from her own experience. Crossing genre lines to create a unique sound, her tracks reflect influences as diverse as Billy Joel, Amy Winehouse, Hall & Oates, Lana del Rey, and the 1975. Elle appreciates the power of music to transcend cultural and political divisions, and hopes to use her music as a tool toward greater tolerance and understanding. During the year, she studies Music Theory and Composition with a concentration in contemporary production and songwriting at New York University.
