Ellisa Dilling Portraiture

Photography – Boise

My name is Ellisa Dilling, I am a 20 year old artist from Clarkston, WA. I have been drawing, painting, you name it since I was 4 years old. My first sketchpad was a magnadoodle. Growing up in a small town, attending only small schools until I graduated, I didn't have a lot of opportunities for art classes. I only took two in high school, the only two the school offered. I started taking photos when I was 14 on a $20 digital camera from Walmart. I don't even remember the brand. I loved the idea of digitally creating art; I could fine tune any piece to be exactly as I imagined. When I was about 16, my mom let me have her old DSLR camera, since she was upgrading (to a Nikon, ugh). The first DSLR I ever owned was her Canon rebel xsi. I took photos for fun and learned what I could from reading books and blogs. After I graduated high school, I decided I wanted to take photos professionally. Over the next year I was hired for about 12 senior sessions, 3 engagements, 2 weddings, plus a few baby, family, best friend and graduation shoots here and there. For being an 18 year old just out of high school, I feel like I didn't do too bad. I'm not super focused on making a lot of money, I just want to create and share my art with as many people as possible, which will inevitably fuel my passion. Now I shoot with a canon rebel t6s equipped with the nifty fifty lens, and use the unbound library branch in Meridian to edit and print my photos. Do what you love, love what you do!
