Photography – Boston
My name is Emily White and I am a fine art, conceptual photographer based in Boston, Massachusetts. I am attending Massachusetts College of Art and Design to earn a BFA as a Studio For Interrelated Media major. For me, photography is a release. I use self portraiture as a means to express myself; through my camera, my body, my surroundings and how I react to them. The act of making art is just as important as the finished product, the process of framing a scene and then imposing myself into it almost becomes a performance in itself. I aim to examine the human condition and to make the invisible, inner workings of the mind, visible. My scenes show private moments, vulnerable emotions, and the deeply personal reaction one has to their surroundings and everyday lives.
