Beauty – Denver

Already married and a father of three, Erik entered the beauty industry at 25. Discontent with his career as a baker and his original plans to go to law school after college, he decided it was time to make a change and he's never looked back. Working in multiple art forms throughout his life, from drawing to pottery to music to stand-up comedy, he discovered his calling was doing hair, allowing him to combine his love of art, fashion and using hair as a form of self-expression and individuality while getting to share his passion with his guests. Erik enjoys cutting, coloring, styling and dreadlock artistry for women, men and everyone in between, and he specializes in transgender, non-binary and androgynous hair. He loves photoshoots and editorial work, and is inspired by the newest trends in everything from old-school barbering and classic glamour to beachy bobs and modern clean styles, flirty pixies, lived-in bohemian waves, avant garde fashion looks and edgy punk rock styles. The ever-changing nature of hair and fashion means that nothing is off-limits or “out of style” and nothing is impossible. Passionate about education and growth, Erik is always looking for more classes and opportunities to continue learning and teaching in this constantly evolving industry. He loves getting to know his guests and working with them to find that perfect custom style for them specifically, and to have fun doing it. He's a firm believer that creativity hinges on diversity, and he celebrates and draws inspiration from the different cultures, backgrounds, stories, lifestyles, and interests that make us who we are. When he's not doing hair Erik is usually hanging out with his wife and kids, playing guitar, or going out to eat. He's also a huge fan of live music, comedy and drag and loves to collaborate with other local artists in the community.
