Visual Art – Miami
Erin is a portrait artist based in Miami and is renowned for her vibrant, flourescent 10-minute sketches of guests at Miami\'s hottest parties. She has sketched portraits at events for some of Miami\'s top companies including Miami Magazine, The Miami Art Museum, DailyCandy, The Collection, The New World Center, The Shops at Bal Harbour, the Miami Design District, and private events throughout South Florida. She also takes private commissions for more detailed watercolor portraits of people, pets, homes, favorite childhood toys, wedding bouquets, and other sentimental or cherished objects.
Erin received her BA in English Literature from Harvard University, and an MFA in costume design from the Yale School of Drama. Before moving to Miami in 2009, she honed her drawing skills as a professional costume designer for stage and screen in New York City, where she designed costumes for over 30 theatrical productions. She won the Independent Reviewers of New England award for Best Costume Design for her designs for Les Liaisons Dangereuses at the Huntington Theater in Boston, and was a guest lecturer in costume design for the Roundabout Theater on Broadway and for the Boston School of Fashion Design.
In August 2012, Erin is looking forward to sketching portraits for three days straight at the South Florida Tattoo Convention. She may or may not come back home with a new tattoo - tattoo suggestions are welcome.
