Visual Art – Houston

Eric Van Haselen is a self-taught artist concentrating on the capture of nature’s structural and formative beauty through the use of resins, foils, wood, and plaster. His paintings are a portal through which we can join Van Haselen's visual exploration of the natural genesis of things. As the artist explains, “The fractal patterns that exist in the design of trees, rivers, and mountain ranges absolutely captivate me. My art’s expressive goal is to take what I see in our natural world and interpret it in a medium that makes us take pause and take notice.” Van Haselen’s most recent creations focus on a theme of growth and creation. His work is multi-dimensional with objects formed through heavy texture. In his own words - “I’m searching for ways for the elements of my art to mirror the complexity of our universe. I love to experiment with new materials and I am excited to incorporate these into my future projects.”
