Visual Art – Indianapolis

My interest in art began in a middle school art class. Our assignment was to find a picture in a magazine, and from it, create a value sketch. After that, we would create a painting using an analogous color scheme. I chose a photograph of activist Angela Davis from a Life magazine. I found her features and big Afro interesting. To my amazement, I found that I could draw light and shadow realistically. The result of this middle school art assignment was my first painting. I painted Angela in hues of yellow, orange, and red. I paint and create digital art. I began creating labyrinth art, and walking labyrinths as a meditative practice in 2014.
