FODDER + FORGE

Visual Art – Denver

Since I was a kid, I have been infatuated with collecting random assortments of paper and journals (that I would usually only write one page in before deciding it was better without words). As I got older, I realized that I came from a family with a very rich oral history but with very little material documentation. I began collecting the stories of our family through photos, poetry and note-filled Moleskines. I became obsessed with the notion of documentation. Then, in college, a pivotal literary theory class that touched on Constructionist theory sealed the deal on my passion for narrative. I came to love the idea of Doc.u.meant-tation (or the notion of meaningfully documenting the world around us). Since then, I have passionately pursued this mantra through a variety of forms including poetry, photography, and collage. The idea of FODDER + FORGE came one evening when I decided that holding onto my creations wasn\'t helping to share the reinterpreted narratives of the pieces I\'d created. I cleaned out a spare closet and created a studio in it and the set to work starting an Etsy store (and a soon-to-come website) to share my work with others. So here we are, a collection of fine art prints that is full of reinterpreted original art pieces that are closet creations, passionately papered, steeped in history, and the sublime summation of stories. In real life: Owner of a boutique marketing firm by day, artsy entrepreneur by night.
