General Avocado

Music – San Antonio

Formed in San Antonio in 2010, General Avocado and the Calavera Queen is pop with an attitude. The music glides across genres like dusty boots on a Texas dance-hall floor; seamlessly blending Ska, Punk, Pop, and Funk into a danceable festival. The music doesn’t just knock your socks off; it makes you not want to wear them so you can dance barefoot!

Lead singer Jessica Rondon is a powerful vocal presence. Her voice connects deep to the hearts of the audience while her infectious positivity transports the crowd to a happier time. She handles rhythm guitar with a funky sparkle that keeps the music driving.

Lead guitarist A.J. Dominguez approaches his parts with a light-hearted energy that is contagious. His punk infused attack is so much fun that the brightest lights are the smiles from the crowd.

Drummer Mauricio Acosta’s command of rhythm is clear in his ability to steer a song from Funky Town to La Calle Ocho. His subtleties reveal a deeper musical mystery.

Bassist Leonardo Bosquez pushes and pulls the songs at will like a lustful dance partner. His soulful melodies inspire the hips to rock and the skin to sweat.

The band is currently playing in San Antonio and the surrounding area, continuing to perform frequently to crowds of all sizes. While General Avocado is working on their debut album, they continue to publish videos of their incredible live shows on their Youtube channel.
