Galeria Máxa is a collective of designers and artists from Guadalajara, Mexico and Oakland, California. We make one of a kind clothing and accessories that showcase the talents of our designers as well as Huichol artisans from the sierra of Jalisco, Mexico. A blend of traditional and innovative, ancient and future. Our products are meant to share the message and culture of the Wixarica (Huichol) community and provide them with a dignified living, doing work that preserves their culture in in spite of the many challenges they face currently, such as loss of their land to foreign mining interests and governments. At the same time we showcase other artists and often collaborate to make special edition prints and designs.
