Visual Art – Northern Rivers

I am a young emerging artist that creates multi-plate etchings and screenprints that explore my ideas surrounding faciality, employing the method of repetition, multiples and pattern making. My practice is immersed with the interplay of digital technologies, such as scannography, and printmaking methods utilized to augment and distort the typified notion of portraiture, using my own face as a means of challenging the status-quo and exploring a new model of perceived beauty. My work can be seen in the form of video, performance and large scale printed matter. In recent months I have been experimenting with the use of readymade materials as well as constructing my own three-dimensional objects from collected and created printed matter. As a printmaker and practicing artist formulating mostly two-dimensional paper works, I have found it necessary to be challenging myself with installation strategies and pushing the boundaries to explore the full potential for my arts practice and vision. I am striving to learn new skills in other visual arts disciplines such as ceramics, sculptural works, performance and digital design, so as to increase my creative dexterity and extend my portfolio repertoire.
