Fashion – Washington, D.C.
I began my lifelong love for fashion after designing a dress for myself at age four. I have been passionately studying fashion and design independently for the past twenty-five years. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Hampton University in 2010, and am a self- taught designer. In February 2009, Gerri L Beatty Collection was included in a fashion feature in Essence magazine.My work has been recognized through the honor of receiving the Hampton University Eunice W. Johnson Award for Creative Achievement in February 2010. In December 2013, my brand was featured on the cover of WMDSF magazine, and again within the Fall 2016 issue. I have been producing my own designs for the past eleven years.
