Gene Gregorio

Visual Art – Baltimore

Gene Gregorio Paintings “Since I was a child I have drawn the world around me. Recording the moments and moods of time has become my life. The interplay of light and color with all of the delicate nuances challenge my abilities and sustain me.” Born in Washington DC in 1961 Gene was formally trained at the Maryland Institute college of Art in Baltimore where he still resides with his wife and youngest of two sons. After leaving school with a degree in fine art in 1983, Gene worked in the museum exhibit field and began his own business at the age of 26 as a master cabinetmaker and exhibit builder. He raised his family and worked at his business for 25 years, yet he missed painting and it was as if his life was not complete. After a trip to his parent’s home in Portugal in 1997 Gene decided to return to his love of art and began painting. When the economy crashed in 2008 he lost his business and decided to paint full time. Gene focuses on the luminescence of his environment with a clear concentration on painting with light and evoking mood. The creation of light within his canvas helps him to define the beauty of the world around him. Now Gene spends from Spring till Fall traveling from state to state exhibiting his paintings at Fine Arts Festivals, only displaying original oil paintings. His Paintings are in numerous private and corporate collections.
