I’m Melissa a self-taught jewelry designer born and raised in north Philadelphia. I began my journey as a jewelry designer in late 2011, when I established Glam Nation Inc. Which was originally an idea for a cosmetics line, after graduating from Lincoln University in the summer of that year and no luck in finding work I began to apply my skills as a self-taught makeup artist to generate income for myself. While doing this I stumbled upon the most beautiful photos of different styles of Indian bridal jewelry. I instantly fell in love with the headpieces the women wore. That was my inspiration for the idea to create my own line of headpieces. In 2012 I began to make and sell head jewelry, each piece creating its own statement, I dub them “Head Turing Headpieces” which is what I became known for. Glam Nation Inc. became a brand in which I took my love for fashion and beauty to a stage where I could share my passion for glamour, creativity, and art with the world the way I wanted to. Fast forward to 2015 I began to extend my jewelry making and I now have added Bold Feather Necklaces to my line, and just like the headpieces they’re making bold statements too.
