Visual Art – Chicago

To be a self taught artist, you have to have a little bit of adventure and grit in you. There is a specific level of courage to experiment and not being afraid to fail. My inspiration to paint came from my mother's creative energy and zest for life. Being a welder, painter and free spirit, she was the best teacher/mother I could have ever asked for. My day-to-day persona lacks this adventure and tends to be safe and methodical. My art teaches me how to love my mind and embrace freedom from perfection. This fall I will be a Post-Baccalaureate Fine studio Painting student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. During my time there I hope to expand my creativity by going bigger and bolder than ever before.
