Grace Young

Hello, my name is Grace Young. Currently I am an apparel design student at Cal Poly Pomona. I am an Asian-American who loves marine biology, nature, and surrealist art. Fashion is a part of art that's ever evolving and always changing. I love working with fashion because it is an expression of beauty, art, and self expression rolled into one. When I make a dress, or a skirt, I want to show the whole world art can be mobile, not just stuck as a sculpture or on a canvas. When I am not focusing on fashion, I'm either reading a novel I read many times previously or attempt to try to find muses via bicycle/skateboard or on foot. My designs are all about focusing on the details and captivating people with the uniqueness of each garment. The designs are inspired from anything that catches the eye. Some of my designs derived from natural elements, such as feathers on a bird, or the broken fragments of glass. Of my two fashion lines, Electric Stars is for the party girl who loves fashion, while having fun at the same time. Capture the Rapture has a more avant garde look, and is for someone who is seeking the unexpected.
