United by a passion for two legendary genres, Gradual Effect brings the full force of Rock&Roll with the soul of the Blues to create a vibrant, dance-inspiring sound. From blessed roots in Yorba Linda, California, Gradual Effect has earnestly entered the musical fray head first, capturing audiences of all ages along the way.
Formed in 2011, Gradual Effect has been giving Orange County, CA a taste of the past with a fresh new face with their blend of Rock n Roll and Blues. Beginning in coffee shops and open-mic nights, Gradual Effect has pressed forward to perform regularly at legendary venues such as the HardRock Café’ and Whiskey A Go-Go in Hollywood, as well as festivals and large-scale events like the OC Fair and LA Marathon.
In the spring of 2013, Gradual Effect entered the studio with producer Charles Bennett of Crooked Creek Studios to record their debut album, “Revenants”. Fueled by years of dating angst, the album was an outward expression of the struggles of love in the life of Gradual Effect’s own frontman, Tyler Liem, while also conveying a theme of a greater reward hidden beneath the mountains of pain and strife.
Being a band that strives for musical perfection, but with a naturally raw sound, Gradual Effect is constantly searching for new and better ways to create the music they love so much.
