Gypsy Collabo

Music – St. Louis

Gypsy Collabo is an entirely unique experience that blends styles from all over the map. A completely live group, they maintain an aesthetic that allows them to have a modern pop appeal while backing it with the knowledge and chops of an old school band. Their collective diversity creates a palette rich in depth, and allows them to seamlessly fuse elements that might not traditionally seem to mix into a catchy, cohesive brand of music all their own. The group formed in 2002 when through a mutual friend, aspiring rock band Tipsy Gypsys met the up and coming hip hop collective Collabo. The two groups instantly hit if off and in no time were making music together. They proceeded to drop \"The Family Tree\" mixtape and began touring the Midwest, opening for acts like Twista, Chingy, and Crucial Conflict along the way. The band is currently continuing to tour, write, record, and produce all their own material, and working to assemble a team of like minded professionals to partner with for their next release. With the recent departure of their bass player, original founding member Colin Helton returned to play bass with the group.
