Hemp Club Jewelry + Boho Earth Headbands

Accessories – Chicago

While I've been making jewelry since the age of 8, I began my professional journey selling my work in 2012, just shortly after my best friend Julie passed away in a car accident on New Years' Eve. I launched Hemp Club Jewelry in her memory. Julie started the "Hemp Club" when we were in high school (circa 2006) -- and it became a gathering of close friends tied together by the art of macrame. Julie taught us how to create beautiful necklaces and bracelets using different knotting techniques with hemp twine and a variety of colorful beads. We would gift our creations to one another, and trade beads under the shade of the great oak tree in her backyard on hot summer days. It was bliss. Today, I carry on Julie's teachings in my work, and I have branched out into other types of jewelry including lampwork glass bead making and wire wrapping. Inspired by Julie's free spirit and love for nature, I recently started Boho Earth Headbands, a line of lightweight flexible flower crowns for all ages. My customers range in age from 5 to 75. These crowns are perfect for kids, teens, young adults, flower girls, brides, bridesmaids, and even the young at heart.
