Hotsy Totsy started as an a cappella Andrews Sisters tribute trio assembled to accompany a World War II exhibit brought in to the Tropicana Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. Following the close of the exhibit, the girls quickly expanded their repertoire and found their niche as a retro-pop novelty act. While still performing nostalgic hits of days gone by, they began reinventing more current chart toppers to sound more evocative of that golden age. They also started putting together creative mash-ups to further explore this concept of marrying yesterday and today within the context of the same three and half minutes of music.
Coming into 2015, Hotsy Totsy has begun to transition out of being a cover band and into a completely original indie-pop act. This all started over a misunderstanding of the fine print involving a Band Aid jingle contest (true story!). And what was originally entitled, \"Boo Boo Bye Bye\", became their first single, \"Baby Bye Bye\". The girls thought it would be fun to explore writing in their roots as a former Andrews Sisters tribute act and have, very quickly, crafted a signature \"Hotsy\" sound and style. A sound and style that takes everything that made those girl groups of the 1940s, 50s, and 60s so delicious, and makes it relevant in today\'s music scene.
