The unisex collections emphasize androgyny, combining classic silhouettes with intriguing textures. A specialized sizing system, to blur to gender roles of fashion, pushes the collections to new and unexplored territory.
FOF also excels in custom performance wear, catered to meet the needs of musicians. ALIAS, the customized segment of FOF, is meant to develop the image of musicians who wish to add impact visually. These collaborative pieces provide musical artists with the opportunity to further describe their music through appearance. FOF ALIAS specializes in leather garments, specifically the traditional leather jacket.
Lauren Kacher, the designer behind Form over Function, has a background in fashion design from the University of Minnesota and London College of Fashion. She has worked for numerous companies in New York, Minneapolis, and London. Her experience ranges from high fashion couture, accessories, bridal wear, athletic wear, and leatherwork.
