Visual Art – New Orleans
Growing up in the New Orleans, with its raw and beautiful character, has helped form my artistic identity. My paintings display these characteristics in unique combinations that came about after an inspirational and life changing trip to California’s wine country. I began recycling wine capsules from the tops of wine bottles and incorporating them into my acrylic paintings as a medium for the images. I was drawn to the capsules bright colors, designs, and texture. It is the fusion of acrylic paint, glazes, and wine foils that create my dynamic paintings. My art is influenced by New Orleans music, architecture, and culture, as well as California’s wine country, where I spend time on a regular basis.
