Visual Art – Vancouver

Painter, illustrator, concept artist. I grew up in Yorkshire, England. The son of a jazz drummer father and an artist mother, my relaxed childhood made it easy for me to express my creative passion. I studied art for 5 years on both a foundation course straight from school and as a degree at University before heading to London. There I worked for all the big advertising agencies on campaigns for everything from McDonald's to My Little Pony. In 1998 I moved to Vancouver where I dived in to the video game world working as a concept artist for EA Sports as well as other game companies. After a few years I decided to go freelance so that I could have the flexibility to do lots of various work projects as well as find the time to concentrate on my own ideas. Everything from children's books to record sleeves and film concept work has flashed beneath my fingers since then. I also love drawing my surroundings and Vancouver has been a perfect muse for sketch book, and I continue to bike around the city to find interesting views to draw in black pen before adding a graphic touch on the computer. Enjoy!
