April Joy Art

April Joy grew up in north LA and the first time she visited New Orleans on a school culinary trip in 2006, she fell in love. April is a professional baker/cook and has graduated culinary school. She has always loved to be creative and paint and draw but first chose a career in culinary. She hasn\'t really taken up the role as artist/painter but in the past few years. After working several cooking/baking jobs for different companies and feeling the sting of an overworked/underpaid career she slowly but surely made her way back to art where her heart is most passionate. Reaching inside herself she remembered that when she was a child and was asked the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” She always said an artist. So this is her journey getting back in touch with her inner child on a path to self discovery with design, Zentangle, and meditative drawing. She has been on this roller coaster ride since late 2011. She is self taught and learns new things everyday.
