Ray Anderson

I am from south Texas\' Rio Grande Valley. My mother was raised roughly 20 miles from Mexico; my father, about 20 miles from the Canadian border. I took Cosmetology In high school and proceeded to cut hair professionally for 28 years. Several years ago, I obtained an educators license and have taught in a cosmetology school. I also started painting, drawing and sculpting again. I was intrigued by how much my work had changed, and what elements had stayed the same. As I have progressed it has become a passion. Last year I was selected to show my work at the San Antonio River Authorities inaugural River Arts Festival. It was an honor to participate with some awesome people doing good things in our city. SARA was my first show and it was simultaneously frightening and exhilarating.
