Visual Art – Los Angeles

Hi I\'m Hallie! I\'ve been documenting street art and graffiti for over a decade! It all started with my first digital camera. An Olympus CAMEDIA C-900 ZOOM. I think it was 3 megapixels. I was teaching myself graphic design at the time and decided that using digital pictures was a good way to practice. I began to photograph graffiti and propaganda art in 2001 while working in the fashion industry in downtown Los Angeles. At the time, there was a lot of anti-war art all over the streets. I noticed some amazing murals that were constantly being painted over. So daily, armed with my camera, I drove the streets on the hunt for pops of bright colors which appeared around every corner. I wanted to capture the history of those pieces before they disappeared, never to be seen again. My exposure to the many forms of graffiti led me to explore graphic design and multimedia art even further. I now have quite a collection of photographs of graffiti murals from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Australia, Israel, Morocco, Mexico, France and the many other places I have traveled. My work is always evolving. I\'m constantly getting inspired by new mediums and ways to showcase these images and moments in time. So hang it on your wall, wear it and walk in the streets with it.
