Laura Newman

Laura Newman is a director, producer and writer living in NYC. Her feature film comedy WE ARE THE HARTMANS, starring Richard Chamberlain, was called, “A film that no one can afford to miss,” by Film Threat. As a producer and cinematographer, Laura worked on the Oscar nominated documentary GASLAND. Her short films have been Official Selections of the Avignon Film Festival, Palm Spring International Shorts, Big Apple, Santa Fe and others. Recent projects include producing and directing web spots for Wiley Publishing, The Green Party, BioBus, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, NYU’s Materials Research Science and Engineering Center. She is the head of video production for Reverend Billy\'s Church of Stop Shopping Project. She is currently developing a cable reality series about sex education for adults. Laura teaches video at the Lower Eastside Girl’s Club and is a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts. www.irREVERENTfilms.com
