Music – Pittsburgh

Jacob Klein writes and performs introspective music with an organic and soulful integrity to the heart of songwriting. There’s an underlying singer-songwriter tradition that has been very carefully crafted and that stems from his musical upbringing - channeling the likes of Jeff Buckley, Ben Folds, McCartney/Lennon, Brian Wilson, Chris Martin, John Mayer, Pink Floyd, Stevie Nicks and more. As a whole, the Jacob Klein Band coalesces into a post-modern pop-rock outfit, with each member bringing an array of experiences and influences that further shape the songs and that contribute to a shared uniqueness that is the band’s sound; It’s pop - but it wants to be accepted on it’s own terms rather than the industry’s. It’s rock, but that’s just the medium and not the message. The meaning lies within the songs, which meander emotionally and push at the boundaries of their musical language. There’s a tenderness and vulnerability that challenges listeners to feel and to examine, and most importantly - to come together.
