I love color and the vibrant colors and energy created utilizing acrylic paints. My paintings tend to have an overall softness and feminine look and feel to them. I love to draw and paint flowers, females and furniture in a contemporary way. Tulips are prevalent throughout my work. Tulips have always been my absolute favorite flower for a number of reasons; their range of colors from vivid and saturated to soft, pretty pastels, their free spirited nature to grow in any direction they please, their simple yet striking form, and their understated elegant nature. I am drawn to bright, bold colors because they are so invigorating and bring a smile to your face. Dale Chihuly is one of my favorite artists because of his incredible use of color in his glass work. I have recently been venturing into mixed media pieces by incorporating recycled glass and other materials into my work. Painting is a passion of mine because there are limitless ways to play with different color palettes and I have the freedom to paint anything I want to paint…there are endless possibilities… "I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers." ~Claude Monet “Earth laughs in flowers.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
