Visual Art – Washington, D.C.

I live and work in Washington, D.C. and am lucky enough to have a home studio. I have an undergraduate degree in art and psychology from Lycoming College in central Pennsylvania. At that time, my primary focus was sculpture; though now I create mostly large and small-scale paintings and drawings on canvas. My love of psychological theory combined with a high respect for the subconscious, results in a variety of 'characters' who tend to form their own stories through a process of uninhibited fluidity, gestural line work, and layering; where they often end up in brightly-colored, dream-like realms of abstraction, and occasionally situations of sexual promiscuity. Some of my most recent projects have included commissions (both public and private), murals, design consulting, pet portraits, and politically-charged performance art.
