Jonathan Belcher

Visual Art – Nashville

Growing up in a small rural town of Murray Kentucky he had a lot of influences through nature and the close contact he had with the town’s people. His understanding of the use of different glass mediums didn’t come into effect until his knowledge of the arts through his grandfather at an early age. His Grandfather J.D. Clark was a great stain glass and ceramics artist making inspiring windows and clay sculptures. Throughout his college career at Murray State University Jonathan has study at the Penland School of Crafts in the glass program and was taught by many famous artists including stain glass artist Mark Angus and Joseph Calavari. With his knowledge of the flat glass ways, Jonathans work has been presented in The Clara M. Eagle gallery and the Murray Art Guild. Graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor degree in studio arts, Jonathan has a bright future in front of him with being one of the only few young males in the stain glass world.
