Jeff Bartholomew

The experiences of my own life come out through the brush in an abstract way. These works were created after spending time traveling through the caribbean of Latin America. When creating the work I did not realize any connection, between the paintings and the travel. My Initial focus was on color and a dialogue between geometric and organic forms. As the work evolved trees emerged. Landscapes began to form, and natural spaces begin to unfold out of the abstract paintings. The jungles and coastlines where I spent time, subliminally influenced the paintings. The result of painting spontaneously for pure enjoyment became this series of work.
