Visual Art – Connecticut

Due to my artist mother and graphic designer father I grew up with a natural interest in art. I was fascinated by the human figure, drawing and studying the body and emotion from a young age. Art became an outlet for every expression in my life. After I received my BFA in Illustration from The University of Hartford\'s Hartford Art School in 2011, graduating with summa cum laude, I decided oil paints were my favorite of all mediums. I had attended the Fashion Institute of Technology for fashion design and Tunxis Community College for graphic design. My recent work focuses on a unique form of portraiture, involving anatomy, intricate patterns, and a keen sense of color. I seek to convey not only the human body physically but the human experience by exploring what makes up a person. I often end up creating a bit of a memento mori which admittedly is a happy accident! Also, I like it when there is a little mystery involved, thus inspiring the spectator to make up their own story surrounding the piece.
