John & Brittany

Music – Philadelphia

Since dropping their debut EP in the summer of 2011, John & Brittany (John Faye and Brittany Rotondo), Philadelphia\'s most unique songwriting duo, have risen from the city\'s thriving open mic circuit to become a serious rock act to contend with, already having shared stages with the likes of The Smithereens, Everclear, Gin Blossoms, and Matthew Sweet, in addition to headlining their own shows at venues like World Cafe Live and TLA. Start Sinning, J&B\'s 32-minute musical blitzkrieg released at the top of 2013, is a record that, at its core, is about the discovery, or perhaps re-discovery, of the power of rock n roll. Inspired by their mutual love of punk and new wave, as well as songsmiths like Alejandro Escovedo and Jack White, John & Brittany create tunes and chemistry that are unforced and undeniable. Fan-funded with a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $11,000, the album is that rare combination of raw, powerful performance and razor-sharp song craft. The title track on \"Start Sinning\" debuted on Little Steven\'s Underground Garage as \"Coolest Song in the World\" in April of 2013, receiving airplay on Sirius/XM, as well as over 300 stations world-wide on LSUG\'s syndicated weekly show. The duo\'s music video for their track \"Paper Planes\" received play on over 100 video outlets throughout the US and Canada, and made it all the way to MTV-U\'s \"The Freshmen,\" airing consistently on the cable outlet during the summer of 2013. John & Brittany\'s time has come. Isn\'t it time YOU Start Sinning?
