Johnny Anthony Trujillo

Visual Art – Riverside

Hello, my name is Johnny Anthony Trujillo, I am a 45 year old Mexican American male. I was born of February 16, 1973 in East Los Angeles but was raised in the west of Los Angeles, by downtown LA. I come from a Christian base home, founded on biblical principals. Though these Christian values were instilled in me, I rebelled at a very young age, 10 to be exact. And by the age of 15 and a 1/2, I found myself incarcerated for a choice I made that I am regretful and ashamed of. I, none the less, have taken advantage of the free time throughout my incarceration by educating myself. Throughout my 26 years of imprisonment, I' ve managed to accomplish several degrees. I\'m a three year graduate of theology, bachelor\'s in biblical studies, masters in biblical studies, and a doctorate in biblical studies, vocations, graphic arts and silk screening, and welding with two (American Welding Society certifications). I am also a self-taught artist, I am a free hand sketch, illustrator artist and work with all mediums. I am also a musician who plays the guitar, a barber, and I play all sports. In short, I'm a jack-of-all-trades, master of none as the saying goes. As I mentioned, I was incarcerated in Chuckawalla Valley State Prison in Blythe, California later to be transfered to Old Folsom, where I hoped and prepared for a chance to re-enter society. I believed deeply in my heart and was ready to face the community I left and to pay restitution for the wrong that I have committed. On September 8th, 2014 I was granted that opportunity. I am so grateful and appreciate this grace that was bestowed upon me. I am now Married to a wonderful, beautiful, and loving wife, and father of four wonderful children. I have learned so much and yet continue to learn and appreciate what God has done in my life. I have continued to pursue my art career and have taken on the art of tattooing since my reentering society. I found new inspiration and am hoping to one day excel in my artwork. Thank you all that have been part of my growing process as an artist, Especially my beautiful wife who has been the corner stone of my art career, I love you Christal.
