Jordan B. Wade

I am a figurative painter who works in both mixed media and oils. I grew up in a small town in Catahoula Parish, bounced around to Pineville and Natchitoches, but finally found my home in New Orleans in 2014. I have a BFA in Studio Art, with a concentration in painting (Louisiana College, Pineville, LA) and an MA in Visual Arts (Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, LA). Art has always been a passion of mine and I am thrilled to be a part of a city that so fully and openly embraces art and culture. My work is concerned with ability of seemingly disconnected imagery to connect memory and emotion. I am currently working with materials of different transparencies and textures to build stories within images that are simultaneously personal and universally connecting.
