Visual Art – Austin

Undercover Cowgirl is a name I bestow upon myself. I was raised on my family's cattle ranch in southwestern Montana and I have a beloved connection with my roots. As a rancher, the relationships between man, animal, and our natural resources have been a guiding force in my maturation as a person and artist. The instinct to push the boundaries of a traditional western upbringing has molded my philosophy and approach, resulting in openness, and spontaneity. My eclectic nature has shaped my ability to explore, create, and expand my mind… driving me to immerse myself into the design process. My approach is minimal, bright, and clean, often referencing Swiss-style design. I am drawn to quiet gradients, symmetry, and warm colors. For me, it's important to create a product that's more than ephemera (things that exist or are used or enjoyed for only a short time). I believe that the ultimate form of success for a designer is to produce a product that is so beautiful, people want to save it. Ultimately, it's about adding a bit more of that practical beauty to the world.
