Photography – San Diego
Well, my name is Joy and I've worked in just about every field that does not promote artistic growth. I've lived my life brushing off the things I love to do most in order to satisfy this fictional idea of a college degree, medical field career, and a white picket fence. I've been lost for some time now, none of it brought me lasting fulfillment. Through a chronic illness, love, a lot of reflecting and whole-heartedly devoting yourself to gratitude, I'm learning to tune out societal norms, cultural limits, and the limitations I THINK I create for myself. I use photography as my source of expression. Life isn't always bright, peachy and wonderful, and in contrast, my photos are. I like to transform typical, everyday beauty into something the eyes don't always see. I like to transform them into colorful visuals that are surreal. I like to evoke feelings, not only through the technicals, but through colors and light. I hope you all enjoy, and I look forward to meeting you.
