J Pre

Music – Los Angeles

J Prè (pronounced “Jay Pray”) is an electronic indie rock artist living in Philadelphia. J Prè is an acronym for the Justin P. Romanos Experiment. J Prè was started in 2008 in his hometown of Woodbury, CT, but was only a side project until he moved to Philadelphia, where he pursued his solo career full time. J Prè released his newest EP, “The Joy in Sound,” on November 22nd 2010 Electronic indie-rock artist J Pre recently released his second EP titled The Joy in Sound via his independent record label, Think Thought Records. The nine-track album features a distinct sound that showcases a nicely balanced mix of electronic and rock. Tracks like “The Sun” and “Alchemist” stand out for their catchy, yet subtle guitar chords, while further into the album, songs like “Echos,” “Joy,” and “Oh Tokyo” highlight the more electronic side of J Pre’s sound. The final track on the album, “When the World Goes to Hell” offers up a unique sound by throwing a bit of rap into the mix while providing some social commentary within the lyrics. When I talked to J Pre back in June it was more than obvious that his passion for music was genuine. He said that he his number one reason for making music was simply for the fact that he loves it and that’s something easily heard within The Joy in Sound.
