J. Sayuri is a multimedia artist and designer currently living in Los Angeles. After graduating from UC Berkeley’s Art Practice program, she returned to her hometown of Los Angeles, CA to tap into LA’s burgeoning art and technology scene. J. Sayuri envisions a world where art and technology merge to create interactive experiences that elevate our lives and expand our minds. When J. Sayuri isn’t demonstrating her harmonograph at markets, she attends tech entrepreneur meet-ups about open source electronics, programming, and communal workspaces. Some of her interests include – machinery, the Maker Movement, robots, comic books and 3D printing. J. Sayuri is an avid lover and writer of comic books. Her current favorite comic books include Bottomless Bellybuttons, The Filth, and Daytripper. Through technology, she seeks new ways to elevate the comic book reading experience. Currently, J. Sayuri is chipping away on her first graphic novel, The Musical Melodyians. Here’s the log line: Musical aliens land in LA in dire search for music to save the world with the help of Lars D., a one-handed rock ‘n’ roll has-been who rediscovers his love and appreciation of music.
