Recipient of 2012 S&R Washington Award and Dance Place’s 2012 New Releases Commission, Junichi Fukuda is a native of Japan. He holds a BFA in Dance from the Boston Conservatory. He has been a member of Ballet Tech/NY, Oakland Ballet, Smuin Ballet/SF, Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, Nejla Yatkin’s NY2 Dance, Buglisi Dance Theatre and Peridance Contemporary Dance Company where he was featured in numerous principal roles. He is currently a member of New York Baroque Dance Company, Bowen McCauley Dance, and Christopher K. Morgan & Artists. Junichi is also active as a choreographer. His choreography was presented nationally and internationally in France, Japan, Brazil and Germany. Junichi recent commission was to create a new work for Christopher K. Morgan & Artists in April 2013. His solo “ECLOSION” is selected to compete in the Official Section’s Solo Contest at 18MASDANZA in Spain, October 2013. He was also nominated for Outstanding Individual Performance in the 2013 DC Dance Awards.
