Photography – San Diego
Justin Alexander Bartels has loved photography his whole life. As an adolescent, he was
always out with a camera snapping photos and creating images. As a young adult, he expanded
his knowledge of photography at the Art Center College of Design
with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography + Imaging. Interested in exploring the close
relationship between art and science, he attained a second degree, a Bachelor of Arts in
Sociology from California State University of San Marcos.
His education has driven him to become an expert of image making, continually pushing
both himself and his images. Justin loves the challenge of new projects; he is motivated
by the excitement of researching the aesthetics, their application during the shoot,
and the final retouching to complete the image.
Every image he creates is a journey, from its inception to its creation and completion.
His relationship with his subjects allows Justin and those he photographs to work together
and compose an incredible image. As an athlete and fashion connoisseur himself,
he knows how to push an athlete to their physical limits, but he can also create an undeniably
unique fashion image. Capturing movement and action at its rawest is a true passion
of Justin’s. From fashion to sport, everything is within reach of his field of view.
